a happy thanksgiving

Wow, can't believe it's still the weekend! We've enjoyed four days of
lots of eating, meeting up with friends and just relaxing. Earlier in
the week we sent off Anna's Canadian residency paperwork, so the huge
weight off our shoulders made the weekend all the more enjoyable.

Thursday we had a feast at a family's place, Bob and Lonna Davis'. We
got to help cook a couple of dishes, and joined in eating with about
20 people! Fun times.

The rest of the weekend has included meeting up with other friends,
and going to see the Nutcracker on Saturday (Boulder Ballet and
Boulder Philharmonic, really cool!). Today we're about to embark on
our first Christmas-gift shopping expedition (wish us luck!).

Isn't Thanksgiving such a great holiday? We were reflecting on the
beauty of it, no required gifts to buy, no commercial craze, no
confusion about the "real meaning of Thanksgiving", just family, food
and gratitude. May we be grateful for the chance to enjoy the people
close to us and reflect on our Father who's so good to us.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving (you too, Canadians, even though
yours was a while back already!).

Here's a moving short documentary about the Karen people living along the Burma and Thailand border, produced by a good friend.

November update

hello friends,

Hope you're doing well. We're well in fall here in Denver. A couple weeks ago we had 2 feet of snow, which disappeared quickly, but woke us up to the reality of the changing seasons!

The pregnancy is going well. Last week we had our 20-week ultrasound, and found out that we're going to be having a girl! We're super excited. Anna is doing her to keep herself from buying every cute little baby dress out there :-).

Things are busy with YWAM, as we have 109 students enrolled in 6 different training schools! The is the largest group we've had in quite some time. Anna and I are not working directly with the schools, but Anna is coordinating their local weekly outreaches, as well as working in the registrar department. I am preparing for the WISE school which starts in January, as well as working in our graphic design department.

The big news in design-wise this week is the launch of the new YWAM Denver website! It's been a lot of work getting the site ready to go, but we're excited that it's finally up. Check it out at http://www.ywamdenver.org.

Please pray for us, that Anna would continue to have a smooth and healthy pregnancy.

Also, as some of you know, we are making preparations to move to Canada next spring, and are beginning to apply for Anna's permanent residence in Canada. Although not a too complicated process, it has been quite a process collecting all the right paperwork. Please pray that this process would go smoothly and quickly. We would love to complete this process before we move. Also, if you have any questions about our transition, please email me.

Thanks so much for your friendship, prayers and support!
